Burrata is crafted by gently stretching a ball of fresh mozzarella into a thin, semi-soft layer that becomes a delicate envelope. This is then filled with stracciatella – fine strips of mozzarella blended with fresh cream – creating a soft, creamy, almost spoonable cheese at the center.
Each burrata is hand-closed, sealed in hot water, and preserved in lightly salted cold water to ensure freshness and authenticity. The word stracciatella comes from “strips,” reflecting its unique texture and indulgent consistency.
