“Cappelletto” means in italian “small hat”. Indeed, the Cappelletto shape resembles a medieval and finds its original roots from the region of Emilia Romagna, middle part of Italy. The origins of the recipe, widespread on a territorial basis, are ancient, traditionally and historically linked to Emilia-RomagnA and the Marches.
From these areas it then spread over the centuries, becoming a typical dish in various cities. Some recent sources expressly indicate the area of the Cesena-Ferrara-Reggio Emilia triangle as the place of origin, others report the Marches as a land where cappelletti are of ancient tradition.
